Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport seeks an Admissions Coordinator to perform interviews, intake, and admissions for patients and potential patients. The role requires a Master’s degree in a mental health field and CT licensure (LCSW/LMFT/LPC/LADC or Psychologist) with inpatient behavioral health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master degree in a mental health field required.
• CT licensure in LCSW/LMFT/LPC/LADC or Psychologist preferred.
• Two years related experience in behavioral health, inpatient preferred.
• Experience in completing assessments in an ED or other acute setting desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients.
• Responds to telephone inquiries seeking mental health care or information about services.
• Admits patients to the hospital and registers outpatients with physician orders.
• Documents calls and related admission information.
• Identifies insurance information and collaborates with UR department.
• Reviews paperwork to ensure adherence with policies.
• Maintains monthly quality data submissions (referrals, discharges).
• Supports clinical team as backup for group therapy or crisis intervention.
