Bergdorf Goodman, a New York luxury retailer, seeks an Assistant Buyer to support vendor selections, monitor inventory productivity, and analyze profitability. You will assist in price changes, enter updates online, and communicate with vendors and store teams.

Primary location is NYC, onsite. The role requires strong analytical skills, retail math knowledge, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
• Proven track record in merchandising support and vendor communications.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Order management: gather and confirm order details with Buyers and brand partners.
• Oversee offshore assistants in creating and transmitting POs to brands; ensure accuracy.
• Provide allocation direction to Planning Allocation and assist in high-touch categories.
• Communicate receipt flow changes to offshore teams and maintain PO visibility.
• Prepare Buyers for Market with insights on performance, trends and assortments.
• Support style-out sessions and coordinate logistics for assortment presentations.
• Develop strategic product assortments to drive sales and growth.
• Lead in-season analysis and recommend actions based on performance.
