Job summary

Arcis Golf is seeking a results-driven server at The Country Club of the South in Johns Creek, GA. The role involves serving food and beverages to members and guests in a professional and courteous manner, while communicating orders clearly to team members.

You will follow club service standards, maintain clean work areas, and participate in pre-service training. Applicants should have high-volume service experience, strong English skills, and relevant permits or certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous server experience in high-volume club/restaurant; formal service preferred.
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
  • Must speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
  • Local pouring permit & Alcohol certification on file.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests; manage table flow and timing throughout the shift.
  • Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Follow the club's service sequence and standards per training manual.
  • Take food and beverage orders and relay content clearly to coworkers; handle to-go orders by phone when needed.
  • Understand and communicate preparation and service of menu items.
  • Maintain stocked stations with silverware, china, sugar, creamer, tea, coffee, etc.
  • Ensure all silverware and glassware are polished and properly set.
  • Attend pre-service training and adhere to the club's uniform policy.

Job Overview

Responsible for serving all food and/or beverage items, as requested by membership and their guests, in a professional, knowledgeable, respectful and courteous manner. Ability to understand and communicate food and beverage selections, have a team focus mentality, adhere to club's standards of service, maintain a professional appearance and clean work environment, as well as, display a positive and friendly attitude. Responsible for using Workday to communicate with management about time off requests & working availability.

General Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge members/guests and meet or exceed their expectations. Have an acute awareness of all table flow and timing throughout one's shift. Foresee and troubleshoot problems before they occur.
  • To efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • To follow the service sequence and standards of the club, according to the training manual.
  • To take food and beverage orders and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing the content of the orders with co-workers; taking to-go orders via phone when needed.
  • To understand and repeat preparation and service of food and beverage menu items.
  • To be knowledgeable of all food and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage service methods employed at the Club.
  • To ensure all service stations and/or assigned area is stocked and maintained with silverware, china, sugar, creamers, tea box, iced tea and coffee, etc. as described in the station setup sheet.
  • To ensure that all silverware, glasses, base plates and china are polished and set according to club standards.
  • To fold napkins, polish brass and silver items, manicure tables and environment.
  • To seat guests in the absence of the host/manager.
  • Attends pre-service training (line-up meeting).
  • Adherence to Club's uniform and grooming policy.
  • Knowledge of, respect for and adherence to all staff privileges and responsibilities.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by manager on duty.
Job Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience / License / Qualifications: Previous server experience in high volume restaurant/club; formal service preferred. Excellent oral communication and listening skills. Ability to follow directions and be coachable. Excellent customer service skills. Must speak, read, and write in English proficiently. Local Pouring Permit & Alcohol certification

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to speak and hear.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent walking with some extended standing at times.
  • Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances.
  • Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
Working Conditions
  • May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on outlet.
  • Varied weather conditions are expected.
  • May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.
  • Varying schedule to include mornings, afternoons & evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
  • Mandatory holidays/member events include: Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th, Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, Member-Member, Member Guest, Member Appreciation, Dicken's Dinner & New Year's Eve.
