Illinois College is seeking an entry-level Men's Basketball Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in recruiting, coaching, and day-to-day program operations. This role assists with travel coordination, game-day staff management, equipment, camps, and fundraising to advance the team and institutional goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Intercultural competency and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships and problem-solving.
• Valid driver's license and evidence of insurability.
• Relevant coaching experience at the NCAA Division III level, preferred.
• Recruiting experience at the collegiate level, Division III, preferred.
• Must value liberal arts experience and participation in other sports and clubs.
• First Aid and AED certification, preferred.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and some evenings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Outcomes-oriented coaching approach.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, retain and graduate successful student-athletes
• Assist in executing recruiting strategies to meet recruitment goals
• Collaborate with Head Coach on academics and personal development of student-athletes
• Assist in day-to-day operations of running the basketball program
• Adhere to Illinois College, Midwest Conference and NCAA rules
• Attend regular athletic and admission staff meetings
