J.McLaughlin is seeking a Product Developer to join our Product Development team in Brooklyn, NY. You will drive the development lifecycle from concept to production readiness across Men’s Apparel, collaborating with Design, Merchandising, and Production to maintain quality, fit, and cost targets.

In this hybrid role, you will manage calendars, coordinate samples, and communicate with overseas vendors. Strong garment construction knowledge and multi-category experience are required, with a focus

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of product development experience.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and fabrication.
• Experience across multiple apparel categories.
• Overseas vendor communication and development experience.
• Ability to manage multiple seasonal deadlines and cross-functional partnerships.
• Proficiency in PLM systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Drive the product development lifecycle from concept handoff through production approval.
• Manage seasonal development calendars and milestone tracking to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate sample development across all stages (proto, fit, and pre‑production).
• Own costing calculations and maintain margin targets.
• Collaborate with Design, Technical Design, Raw Materials, Sourcing, and Production.
• Translate design concepts into clear development requirements for vendors.
• Communicate with overseas vendors on status, timelines, and updates.
• Ensure vendors meet sampling timelines and development expectations.
• Maintain product data in PLM systems and participate in fittings and reviews.
• Occasional travel to vendors or factories may be required.
