Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking a Sr. Manager of Memphis Power Plant Operations to lead the gas turbine power facility supporting the Colossus data center campus in Memphis, TN.

You will own 24/7 operations, maintenance, commissioning, and ongoing construction/expansion, delivering reliable, high-availability electrical power with safety and regulatory compliance. You will steer cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and drive performance improvements to meet aggressive scale-up, cost, and schedule targets

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in power generation operations or related industrial/aerospace operations.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams of operators, technicians and engineers.
• Experience operating or managing gas turbine power plants (simple cycle or combined cycle).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Memphis gas turbine power plant, including 24/7 operations, maintenance, commissioning, and ongoing construction/expansion.
• Own end-to-end delivery of electrical power to the Colossus data center sites, ensuring reliability, availability and power quality.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in a 24/7 operational and construction environment.
• Oversee plant performance, commissioning, testing, and integration with data center electrical infrastructure.
• Develop and execute operations and maintenance strategies, including preventive/predictive maintenance and outage planning.
• Manage concurrent construction, equipment installation, and phased capacity expansions while maintaining safety and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with data center operations, engineering, suppliers, OEMs, utilities, and regulators.
• Formulate and execute operating budgets, fuel management, O&M, and capital projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in plant availability, heat rate, emissions, and safety metrics.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability and collaboration.
• Serve as site leader and representative to community, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Recruit and develop talent; manage staffing and contractor oversight.
