Job summary

Atria Senior Living, Inc. is seeking a Memory Care Assistant to support residents in our Coterie Memory Care neighborhood. You will provide personal care, assist with daily activities, and help engage residents in planned programming.

The role requires empathy, the ability to follow care plans, and successful completion of required training. Competitive benefits and fully vaccinated status are part of the package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year experience providing care to individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairment.
• Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Able to write simple correspondence.
• Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Must be fully vaccinated and provide vaccination record card at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all care needs of residents in Memory Care.
• Set up tables in preparation for all meals.
• Serve meals and drinks to Memory Care residents in the dining room.
• Serve residents 3 snacks and beverages daily, including those in rooms.
• Assist with clean-up after meals, clearing dishes and cleaning surfaces.
• Participate daily in the Sharing the Way Moment program and related activities.
• Encourage resident choices to promote independence in daily living activities.
• Collect and manage laundry from resident apartments.
• Remove and dispose of waste and incontinent products as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties in common areas and assist with light cleaning in resident apartments.
