Job summary

The Good Neighbor Society in Manchester, IA seeks an Assisted Living Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee nursing services for the dementia care unit, promoting resident safety, dignity and quality of life through clinical oversight, health assessments and medication management.

You will coordinate with families and healthcare providers, supervise staff education, develop care plans, and ensure compliance with state regulations and resident rights.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license in good standing.
• Experience in geriatrics, assisted living, memory care, or dementia care preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care for individuals living with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments and develop care plans.
• Monitor tenant health and respond to changes.
• Oversee medication management and ensure safe administration practices.
• Provide clinical guidance and staff training on dementia care best practices.
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacies, therapy providers, hospice, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate regularly with families about tenant health, care needs, and changes in condition.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and resident rights.
• Participate in admissions, transitions, and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Monitor infection prevention practices and promote a safe living environment.
• Assist with quality assurance activities and documentation requirements.
