Job summary

Claiborne Senior Living in Cumming, GA seeks a compassionate Dementia Care Director to lead programming and engagement within our Memory Care neighborhood.

Design and oversee therapeutic programming, partner with clinical and community leadership, and promote dignity, connection, and joy for residents living with dementia. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in senior living or healthcare with dementia programming.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Working knowledge of dementia care regulations and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a dementia-specific programming calendar.
• Design therapeutic and engagement-based activities tailored to cognitive abilities.
• Partner with Wellness leadership on care planning and change-of-condition communication.
• Train and mentor staff in dementia engagement techniques.
• Build relationships with families and guardians.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal memory care regulations.
• Monitor participation and measure program effectiveness.
• Stay current on dementia care research and best practices.
• Support coordination of appointments and memory care needs.
