Responsibilities

• Lead daily group activities including periodic evening/weekend/holiday programs.

• Conduct 1:1 programs as well as group programs.
• Assist with planning the monthly calendar.
• Maintain records of program attendance, wellness meetings, and assessments.
• Assist with maintaining supplies and inventory.
• Complete various projects assigned by the Administrator and/or Department Director.
• Attend continuing education related to residents with cognitive impairments and other topics.
• Report changes in residents’ health or participation to the Life Enrichment Director and Health Services staff.

In this role, you will develop and lead engaging programs. The ideal candidate is creative, energetic, and people-focused, with strong leadership, communication, and time management skills. What You’ll Do

• Work within HIPAA, Corporate Compliance and Resident’s Right policies
• Lead daily group activities-including periodic evening/weekend/ holiday programs
• Assist with creating diverse and interesting programs
• Conduct 1:1 programs as well as group programs
• Assist with planning the monthly calendar
• Maintain records of program attendance, wellness meetings, and assessments
• Assist with maintaining supplies and inventory
• Complete various projects assigned by the Administrator and/or Department Director
• Conduct an initial assessment interview with each new resident shortly after admission giving insight to the person’s history and their likes/dislikes
• Report any changes in residents’ health, behavior or participation to the Life Enrichment Director and/or Health Services staff
• Attend continuing education specific to working with residents with cognitive Impairments-Alzheimer’s and dementias and other role related topics
• Adhere to the established policy and procedures of the facility
• Work within the department’s budget
• Prepare for and attend Resident Wellness meetings
• Assist with volunteer program and scheduling
• Perform any related, assigned duties as necessary.
• Report any and all concerns, questions, or observations to the respective department and/or Administration.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and honor the residents’ personal and property rights.
• Work with safety in mind at all times: Assure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing duties.
• Report all hazardous conditions issues related to building maintenance & safety of equipment.
• Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clear, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
• Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects such as unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
• Follow the facility’s policies and procedures for fire safety, disaster, and evacuation.
• Attend all mandatory in-service education programs, including fire and evacuation drills and on-the-job training programs etc., as scheduled or directed.
• Attend all department specific in-service education programs
• Perform any related, assigned duties, as necessary.
• Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as directed
