Job summary

Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center in Rutherfordton, NC is seeking a compassionate Memory Care Activities Coordinator (CNA preferred) to join our team. This role focuses on creating structured, engaging activities for residents with Alzheimer's and memory-related conditions, ensuring safety and meaningful engagement daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Experience with Memory Care, Alzheimer's or dementia care required.
• Ability to plan and lead group and individual activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead daily activities designed for residents with Alzheimer's/dementia.
• Develop meaningful programming for cognitive, physical, creative, social, and emotional well-being.
• Lead activities such as music, arts and crafts, sensory activities, games, exercise, reminiscing, holidays, and events.
• Adapt activities to residents' abilities and preferences.
• Encourage participation through patience, creativity, and positive reinforcement.
• Create opportunities for one-on-one engagement with residents.
• Build trust and create a calm, welcoming Memory Care environment.
• Assist residents safely to and from activities, including wheelchair assistance when needed.
• Maintain activity calendars, supplies, participation records, and documentation.
• Communicate resident interests and participation with the care team.
• Collaborate with nursing, families, and other departments for resident-centered care.
• Coordinate special events, celebrations, and community programs.
