Job summary

Cascadia Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to support a joyful, safe dining environment for residents. You will maintain cleanliness for dishware, utensils, and kitchen spaces, ensuring sanitation and infection control standards are met.

The role requires reliability, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to working with seniors, with duties spanning washing, stacking, and assisting in food service as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Maintains current Food Handler’s card.
• Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
• Keeps a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.
• Communicates positively with residents, families, and staff.

• Works a flexible schedule, including weekends/holidays/overtime.
• Maintains CPR/First Aid certification as required by state.
• Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwashing machine and/or wash by hand.
• Clear and reset counters or tables after each course.
• Assist residents to the dining area when required.
• Provide prompt, courteous service.
• Maintain infection control and sanitizer logs.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans; store properly.
• Sort, rinse, and load dirty items; run through dishwasher.
• Assist cook with serving and plating; help with food prep as needed.
• Keep floors dry by wiping spills and sweeping/mopping.
• Attend meetings and trainings; stay updated on tasks.

Job description

Position Summary

The Dishwasher helps create a joyful and vibrant community by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary.

Essential Job Functions

• Is prompt and reliable in coming to work.
• Assists in clearing and resetting counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
• Assists residents to dining area if required.
• Delivers prompt and courteous service.
• Runs dishwashing machine. Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area.
• Maintains infection control standards, updates and inspects sanitizer and dish machine temperature logs.
• Cleans dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, or utensils. Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwasher or by hand. Places clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine.
• Sorts and stacks clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
• Changes dishwater in dish machine every two hours, or before washing glasses or tableware.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand.
• Assists cook in serving and plating out meals, as needed.
• Assists cook with food preparation, as needed.
• Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
• Sweeps/mops floors. Cleans and rolls/unrolls mats.
• Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on system assigned tasks and duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications & Skills
