Job summary

Saber Healthcare Group is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to coordinate with an interdisciplinary team in a skilled nursing facility, focusing on residents with dementia. You will plan and oversee dementia programming designed to support cognitive wellness and overall well-being.

The role emphasizes structured, individualized activities to enhance emotional, cognitive, physical, and social health, with opportunities for career growth and additional training.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in long-term care or memory care programming as a COTA or related field.
• Current certification as a Dementia Practitioner preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive dementia care.

Position Summary

The primary purpose of your job is to coordinate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support for residents with dementia and/or dementia-related conditions. You will plan, organize, implement, and oversee specialized dementia programming that aligns with best practices in cognitive wellness. This position supports the overall goals of enhancing the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social well-being of each resident through structured, individualized, and compassionate programming.

Education/Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) preferred. May consider Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or a related field.
• Current certification as a Dementia Practitioner preferred or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in long-term care or memory care programming as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or other discipline as noted above.
