Job summary

Silverado Frederick is seeking cooks to join our memory care team. You will prepare and serve meals for residents, ensuring dietary needs are met, while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This role combines culinary skill with compassion in a communal living environment.

We value reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn. The PM shift runs 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, with every other weekend off. Competitive pay and a robust benefits package are offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking).
• Food Handlers Certificate from County Department of Environmental Health.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Effective communicator in verbal and written English.
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions.
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
• Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
• Comfortable working around animals and pets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs.
• Ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timeliness of food items.
• Modify meals as directed to meet individual nutritional requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the culinary team.
