Job summary

Silverado Southlake, a memory care leader, is hiring cooks to prepare nourishing meals for residents with neurodegenerative conditions. This role blends culinary skill with hospitality and compassion, helping to support health, happiness, and quality of life in our community.

You will follow dietary needs, ensure meal quality and timely service, maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety, and work closely with a caring culinary team in a dynamic, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking).
• Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Effective communicator in verbal and written English.
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions.
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
• Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
• Comfortable working around animals and pets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs.
• Ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timeliness of food items.
• Modify meals as directed to meet individual nutritional requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the culinary team.
