Job summary

Merakey in Coraopolis, PA, seeks a Memory Care Coordinator Assistant to support residents with IDD and Alzheimer’s/Dementia in a Memory Care Home. The role reports to the Memory Care Coordinator and Program Director.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, escorting residents, implementing goals, guiding activities, organizing events, and directing staff within Memory Care.

Qualifications

• Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Preferably experience with individuals having intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Alzheimer and Dementia spectrum.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents’ activities of daily living, including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene.
• Escort residents to and from scheduled program classes.
• Implement individual goal plans, alternate or backup activities, and document residents’ attendance and progress in the Day Program.
• Provide guidance in social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
• Assist in organizing and conducting special events and off-campus trips.
• Offer direction to Residential Services staff working in Program areas of the Memory Care Home.
