Job summary

The Health Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an energetic Activity Assistant to lead individual and group recreation programs for Memory Care residents. This full-time role emphasizes creating meaningful, person-centered activities to support physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being.

The position is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with some holidays and occasional evening or weekend hours.

Qualifications

Outgoing and upbeat personality with ability to lead groups.
Interest in arts, crafts or music is preferred.
Ability to adapt quickly to changes and make independent decisions.
Enthusiastic and able to motivate others.
Experience with elderly or dementia care is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design a creative monthly calendar including one-on-one and group activities.
Lead and oversee activities for residents with different cognitive levels daily.
Collaborate with Campus Activity Director and community volunteers.
Plan and attend local outings for residents.
Support person-centered approaches to behavior and care.
Greet new residents and integrate them into activities and groups.
Document activities and participation in required records.
Maintain activity materials and tidy storage areas.
Protect resident confidentiality per HIPAA.
Perform additional duties as directed.
