Bedford Hills in Bedford, NH is seeking a compassionate Recreation Assistant for our Memory Care Unit. You will design and lead engaging activities to support memory care residents, with day/evening shifts or part-time options, about 30 hours per week.

You’ll work with nursing and clinical staff, document participation, and help create a warm, inclusive environment. You’ll need experience in recreation/activities, strong communication, and a high school diploma; memory care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a recreation or activity role (memory care/dementia experience strongly preferred).
• Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to working with seniors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and adapt engaging activities to different cognitive and physical levels.
• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certifications in therapeutic recreation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Activity Planning: Create and implement recreational and therapeutic programs specifically designed for residents with memory care needs.
• Activity Facilitation: Lead individual and group sessions including music, movement, arts, sensory stimulation, and reminiscence.
• Resident Engagement: Foster a warm and inclusive environment that promotes participation and emotional well‑being.
• Program Evaluation: Track participation and adapt programming based on resident needs and feedback.
• Collaboration: Partner with nursing and clinical staff to support individualized care plans.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of attendance and engagement.
