Job summary

Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant in Boca Raton, FL. This role supports the Activities Director in planning programs that foster socialization, mental stimulation, and physical engagement for residents.

The ideal candidate has experience in a Memory Care Unit and a passion for enhancing the lives of residents through engaging activities. Benefits include a 401(k) plan and comprehensive medical insurance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Memory Care Unit preferred.
• Certification in Alzheimer's and Dementia care preferred.
• High School Diploma required; coursework in recreation is a plus.
• Completion of a state-approved activity training course is preferred.
• Experience in leading recreational activities is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing a monthly activities calendar.
• Interview residents and/or family members for activity preferences.
• Coordinate and assist residents in traveling to activities.
• Lead or support activities for residents' well-being.
• Document attendance and progress for each resident.
• Observe and report changes in resident behavior.
• Involve residents and families in planning activities.
• Assist with organizing offsite trips.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Support Resident and Family Council meetings.
