Qualifications

• Ability to organize; ability to teach, supervise, and orient; willingness to accept consultant direction and to assume responsibility.
• Interest in and understanding of the needs of the aged and the chronically ill or disabled.
• Must be computer literate [create documents, send and respond to email, etc.].

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement activity programs for memory-impaired residents under State and Federal regulations.
• Coordinate programs in a team manner with related Villa services and staff; implement group and individual activities.
• Develop activities providing sensory experiences and group interaction.
• Encourage residents to participate in planning and accept some independence.
• Prepare weekly activity schedules and document plans and attendance.
• Evaluate residents to tailor activity programs to individual needs and abilities.
• Maintain program records and manage inventory within the department budget.
• Attend staff meetings and assist with supplies as needed.
• Ensure safe supervision and engagement throughout the day.
