Job summary

Vantage Point Retirement Living in Exton, Pennsylvania, is seeking an Activities Assistant for Memory Care to plan, schedule and conduct programs that enrich residents’ physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This full-time temp role involves coordinating events, inviting participation, and maintaining organized activity spaces.

Responsibilities include calendar planning, collaboration with volunteers, and supporting holiday activities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• One to three years’ experience preferred in assisted living, personal care, long-term care or experience/exposure to the senior population.
• Ability to use software to design calendars and signs; use email and the Internet.
• Interacts with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling and conducting programs for residents.
• Invite and encourage residents to participate in activities.
• Assess, plan and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers.
• Attend community planned functions and coordinate events from beginning to end.
• Help plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
• Coordinate holiday decorations for the community.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure equipment and supplies are available for activities and events.
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate appropriate mixed groups.
• Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craft services.
• Oversee daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
• Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events. Post and distribute the calendar.
• Distribute community newsletter.
• Meet with new residents to introduce the program.
• Assist Director in leadership of the wellness program.
• Work with volunteer staff.
• Address resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
• Document resident participation in activities.
• Maintain resident common areas, activity areas and workspace in accordance with infection control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned
