Job summary

Arcadia at Limerick Pointe is seeking an Activities Assistant in Memory Care to plan, schedule and conduct programs that support residents’ well-being. You will work with staff and volunteers to invite participation, coordinate events, and maintain calendars, ensuring activities run smoothly in a caring senior community.

Strong interest in seniors, solid organizational skills, and flexibility for scheduling are essential to help residents enjoy meaningful daily activities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent or 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience with assisted living or senior populations is preferred.
  • Demonstrates genuine interest in resident well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and conduct activities for residents.

Activities Assistant (Memory Care)

Arcadia at Limerick Pointe is looking for an Activities Assistant in Memory Care. Responsible for assisting in planning, scheduling, and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents.

Description of responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, scheduling and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
  • Assist, invite and encourage residents to participate in activities.
  • Assess, plan and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers.
  • Attend community planned functions and coordinate events from beginning to end.
  • Help plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
  • Coordinate holiday decorations for the community.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for activities and special events.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate appropriate mixed groups.
  • Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craft services.
  • Oversee daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events. Post and distribute the calendar.
  • Distribute community newsletter.
  • Meet with new residents to introduce the program.
  • Assist Director in leadership of the wellness program.
  • Work with volunteer staff.
  • Address resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
  • Document resident participation in activities.
  • Maintain resident common areas, activity areas and workspace in accordance with appropriate infection control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

One to three years' experience preferred in assisted living, personal care, long-term care or experience/exposure to the senior population.
