Job summary

Hawthorne Center for Rehabilitation and Healing of Ocala in Ocala, FL is seeking an Activities Aide to enrich residents' lives, including those with dementia. You will assist the Activity Director, plan and lead engaging programs, and help maintain quality of life for our senior residents.

Preferred: 2 years of Activities experience or certification and a CNA license. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays; background screening is required.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and implementing group and individual activities for seniors.
• Experience or certification in activities for elderly populations, including dementia care.
• Willingness to drive a 12-passenger bus (CDL not needed).
• Must be willing to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Director in planning, organizing and implementing a regular program of recreational, social and individual activities with a focus on memory care.
• Able to work independently and follow the scheduled activity plan.
• Assist in preparation of the monthly activity calendar and decorate the community for seasons/holidays and events.
• Perform activities on schedule with regular attendance and punctuality.
• Assist with enlisting volunteers to aid the activities program.
• Work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays.
