Job summary

The YMCA of Central Stark County (Alliance) is seeking a full-time Membership Director to drive membership sales and retention while delivering world-class member service.

You will oversee membership services staff, create onboarding programs, recruit and develop staff and volunteers, coordinate registration and marketing collaboration, and help manage the membership budget to meet revenue goals. CPR/First Aid certs required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Relationship driven with strong social and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, public relations and written communication skills; comfortable with presentations.
• Able to relate to diverse groups in the community.
• Understand nonprofit YMCA structure and mission.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within first 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Implements membership strategies to recruit and retain members; fosters member satisfaction.
• Create and execute on-boarding program for new members.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers; review performance.
• Promote programs and memberships; coordinate registration (phone, walk-in, web); support marketing efforts.
• Encourage members to try new programs and engage with the Y community.
• Coordinate events and activities for member engagement; ensure programs are subscribed.
• Develop relationships with community groups and companies; make presentations.
• Participate in budgeting and ensure budget adherence for membership.
• Ensure front desk procedures are implemented; update desk procedures as needed.
• Participate in annual support campaign; set and achieve goals with supervisor.
• Meet/exceed membership revenue and marketing goals; model core values.
• Follow risk management, safety procedures, and accident reporting policies.

NOW HIRING! MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR

The YMCA of Central Stark County is seeking a full time Membership Director that is energetic, dynamic, experienced, and mission-driven for the Alliance Family YMCA.

This individual must have the ability to drive membership sales and retention while creating an environment that delivers world class customer service to grow membership and program participation. The position will provide daily supervision to the membership services staff, and other staff who serve as point of contact for current and future members. Critical competencies include; customer service, sales, staff management, community collaboration, and fiscal management.

Salary Range

$44,000+ commensurate with experience

Qualifications

• Must understand the basic concepts of a voluntary, non-profit organization, as well as the structure of the YMCA as a partnership of volunteers and staff, and accept a commitment to the YMCA mission
• Employee must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Certifications required within first 60 days of hire; CPR and First Aid. This position must have the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations

Essential Functions

• Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction
• Create and execute a strong on-boarding program for new members
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed, Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
• Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provide ongoing support to Program Directors and related issues.
• Construct and implement plans that encourage members to try new programs and become involved in the Y community as a committed member rather than just a casual participant
• Coordinate special events and activities related to member engagement as well as ensure member challenge programs are fully implemented and subscribed to throughout the membership community
• Develop effective working relationships with service groups, community organizations, and companies, including making presentations
• Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
• Ensure proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff
• Participate in Annual Support Campaign
• Establish month, quarterly, and annual goals with supervisor
• Meet or exceed membership revenue and marketing goals
• Model behavior consistent with core values
• Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff, and follow accident report procedures and policies
