ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responds to the individual needsof the other person.
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
- Conductsinterviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
- Develops andmaintainspositive relationships with volunteersandmembersandhelps members connect with one another and the Y.
- Serves othersby intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supportingmembers,and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
- May hand out locker keys and towels; maymonitorthe locker rooms asrequired.
- Provides administrative support to the membership deskby:accurately inputting new memberships,lookingup accounts and account information, inputtingscholarship-subsidies/3 rd -party billingand,enteringdata for adjustments to accounts as authorized.
- Keepsinformed of all branch activities & schedulesin order toprovide exceptional member service.
- Acceptsdonations and YPartners Campaign contributions, manages and balancesa dailytill, secures change for cash box, and process end of shift controls for review/audit.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Prefer a minimum of 6monthscustomer service, sales,or related experience.
- Certifications required within the first week of hire: RedwoodsBloodbornePathogens and Hazardous Communications.
- Certifications required within the first60daysof hire:YMCA approved basiclife savingskills such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen.
- Excellent interpersonal andproblem solvingskills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be ableto wordprocess at 45 wpm and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must become proficient within30 daysinthe use ofActiveNet.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in afar-paced office environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required touse a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
- Visual acuity isrequiredfor reading computer screens and/or documents and makingchanges asnecessary/required.
- This position requires analytical abilities and multitaskingin order toidentifyproblems and recommend solutions.
- Jobrequiresaccuracy and attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, whilemaintaininghigh levelsof initiativeinorder towork within deadlines.
- Occasional stooping and bending with regular liftingof up to 20 pounds isrequired.
- Incumbentmust be able to stand forlong periodsof time, as well as be able to use keyboards, telephone keypads, and writing utensils.
- Usesbest practices anddemonstratesup-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
