Job summary

University Credit Union is seeking a dedicated Member Service Representative in Los Angeles to provide face-to-face, phone and digital channel support for account assistance, and to deliver consultative services that meet member needs.

You will process transactions, handle new memberships and loan requests, complete documentation, and collaborate with partners while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a financial institution preferred.
• Ability to assess member needs and advise on products.
• Must adhere to regulatory and organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face/phone/digital channel service to members requesting account assistance.
• Assess member needs and refer to partners as needed.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently with attention to detail.
• Process new memberships and loan requests as requested.
• Complete documentation for accounts and loans.
• Handle account maintenance tasks (address changes, check orders, debit/ATM cards).
• Research member accounts to identify and correct problems.
• Suggest improvements to streamline operations.
• Collaborate as a team and adhere to guidelines.

POSITION PURPOSE/STATEMENTDelivers on University Credit Union’s CHAMPION Values to engage in behaviors that createmember and team member loyalty.Provides information and promotes credit union products and services to build relationships.Processes transactions in the general areas of savings, loans, and auxiliary credit unionservices.Essential Job Functions:• Delivers face-to-face/phone service/digital channel to members requesting accountassistance.• Provides consultative services to members regarding credit union products and servicesby assessing the member's needs, addressing their concerns, gaining agreement, andreferring to partners as needed.• Processes member transactions efficiently and accurately with personal care. Contributesto the departmental goals by processing member requests with sense of urgency.• May process new memberships, additional share accounts, account servicing, consumerloan requests, and general consumer loan funding as requested by members.• Completes documentation for accounts and loans according to credit union procedures.• Performs various file maintenance including processing requests for a change of address,check orders, and ordering debit/ATM cards, etc.• Performs research on accounts, identifies and corrects member account problems.• Provides suggestions for streamlining department and credit union operations.• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Requirements:• Have working knowledge of credit union savings and consumer loan products and allservices. Has basic knowledge of real estate products including types of loans.• Must be a team player and collaborate with others.• All team members must adhere to regulatory, compliance, and organizational guidelines.• Certification/License:o Notary Public preferred.o Be a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUCF) or equivalent (as agreedupon by the Vice President of Member Services or incumbent).QualificationsEducation:Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.Experience:Minimum 1 to 2 years of financial institution experience
