Job summary

The Westfield Area YMCA is seeking friendly and reliable individuals to join the Cranford location's Member Services team. You will greet members, enroll new members, assist with membership changes, and help maintain a welcoming, safe facility.

Responsibilities include handling member concerns, answering phones, processing payments, giving tours, and supporting events. CPR/First Aid training will be provided if needed; position offers benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well, both written and verbal, in English.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.

Description

The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for reliable, friendly and enthusiastic individuals to join our Member Services department at our Cranford location! We offer a fun, positive and inclusive work environment.

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting members, guests and other staff at the Welcome Center with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
• Enrolling new members and assisting current members with any changes to membership/enrollment
• Monitoring the security of the facility by ensuring adherence to all Y procedures and policies in regards to facility access and safety
• Resolving member problems and concerns
• Answering phones and directing calls, as necessary
• Accurately processing payment for membership and program registration
• Giving tours to prospective members, as instructed
• Assisting with special events, as needed

Pay

Starts at $17.00-21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Available Shifts

Monday- Friday 9-5pm; Saturday 11-4pm; Sunday 11-3pm

Requirements

• Must have the ability to communicate well, both written and verbally, in English
• Must be willing to obtain, maintain and renew CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, EPI and Asthma certifications or equivalent; will train on-site
• Must possess the capabilities and maturity to handle the responsibilities involved in maintaining a safe environment
• Must be able to create and maintain positive relations with members, participants and staff effectively.
