Golden Valley Electric Association is seeking a Member Services Representative I – Frontline in Fairbanks, Alaska. You will be the primary contact for members, helping set up accounts, process payments, explain usage and billing, and handle service questions with professionalism and care.

In this role, you will help members establish and manage accounts, process payments, understand usage and billing, and navigate service-related questions with professionalism and care.

You will assist members during routine and high-stress situations, including outages and disconnects, while providing accurate information and dependable service. GVEA is an electric cooperative that owns and maintains 3,491 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, Clear Space Force Station, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, which extends from Homer to Fairbanks. YOUR ROLE AS A MEMBER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE I – FRONTLINE

As a Member Services Representative I – Frontline at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will serve as a primary point of contact for members, providing support with account setup, payments, billing questions, service requests, and general cooperative information. You will help create and maintain member accounts, process connect and disconnect orders, assist with electronic billing and payment systems, and ensure account information is accurate and confidential.

Job Related Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should have a strong customer service background, good communication skills, and the ability to remain professional under pressure. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and an associate degree in a related field is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling payments, balancing cash, using office systems, and assisting members both in person and by phone. Strong teamwork, problem-solving ability, and adaptability to new technology are also important.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Two years’ experience working in a direct customer service related capacity in a service industry.
• At least one year of cash handling experience.
