Job description

Position: Member Services Rep - Full Time - Afternoon/Evening

We are searching for a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team! As a member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing a superior level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience! BILINGUAL English/Spanish are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:
    • Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
    • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with various questions.
    • Check members in, tour, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
    • Respond to member questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
    • Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
    • Assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment questions via POS system.
  2. Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:
    • Maintain the front desk area and lobby in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Perform regular facility cleaning, including mopping spills, trash removal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
    • Clean all exercise equipment and tanning beds regularly.
    • Ensure restrooms and wet areas are cleaned and stocked routinely.
  3. Qualifications & Requirements:
    • Applicants for overnight positions must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment depends on the outcome.
    • Exceptional customer service skills; ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers.
    • Prior customer service experience preferred.
    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • High School diploma or GED required.
    • Positive, professional attitude and punctuality are essential.
    • Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification and be physically capable of performing CPR/AED in emergencies.
  4. Physical Demands:
    • Walk and stand for extended periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
    • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
    • Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR if needed.
    • Normal vision and hearing with or without correction.
