Michigan House of Representatives in Lansing seeks an in-district liaison who will work primarily in-district, travel to Lansing at least one day per week, and support caucus members with community outreach and district engagement.
You will build relationships with constituents, local leaders, and community organizations, coordinate district meetings, and relay legislative updates to stakeholders while safeguarding confidentiality and professionalism.
This is an at-will, partisan position that serves as the primary in-district liaison for assigned State Representatives and plays a key role in supporting Caucus membership at the local level. This individual is expected to spend the majority of their time working within their assigned district(s), building strong relationships with community stakeholders, local leaders, and constituents.
Applicants will be expected to work primarily in-district and travel to Lansing at least one day per week, or as needed, to coordinate with assigned member offices and caucus staff.
The individual must demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate complex and sensitive situations in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The role requires close collaboration with Members, staff, local officials, community organizations, interest groups, and other branches of government. Due to the nature of the position, a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is required.
