Responsibilities

  • Screen incoming calls and walk-in requests to determine appropriate services.
  • Maintain a schedule for new and returning members and explain registration documentation.
  • Document demographic and financial information for registration and AHCCCS referrals.
  • Complete electronic registration packets with accurate data.
  • Orient clients to the Centered Spirit Behavioral Health Program.
  • Assist with consent for treatment, ROI, benefits assignment and privacy forms.
  • Screen for Title XIX/XXI eligibility and assist with AHCCCS enrollment.
  • Coordinate crisis intervention when needed and refer to crisis staff.
  • Support clinicians with intake assessments and re-engagement activities.
  • Complete administrative chart closures for non-compliant clients.
  • Collect and report client data as required by supervisor.
  • Assist clients with complaint forms and escalate to Quality Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The incumbent is responsible for the screening and registering of clients into the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Regional Health Authority (TRBHA) Pascua Yaqui Centered Spirit Behavioral Health Program.

  • Screen incoming calls and walk-in requests for service; this includes ascertaining whether Pascua Yaqui Behavioral Health is the appropriate service provider for the individual, facilitating outside referrals if needed, and partial case management if necessary.
  • Maintain a schedule for new and returning members and discuss all documentation requirements for registration appointments.
  • Document each potential client’s demographic and financial information to facilitate the registration appointments.
  • Document each potential client’s demographic and financial information to facilitate the registration of eligible individuals into the TRBHA and int AHCCCS if eligible.
  • Complete a packet of registration forms in an electronic database with current and accurate data.
  • Responsible for the orientation of clients into the Centered Spirit Behavioral Health Program.
  • Complete all required documents for required services i.e., consent for treatment, release of information (ROI), assignment of benefits, notice of privacy practices forms etc.
  • Screen incoming clients for eligibility for Title XIX and XXI services.
  • Assist clients in securing AHCCCS coverage by opening cases and referring them to the Benefit Coordinators.
  • Screen for potential crisis intervention and coordinate with crisis staff to ensure clients safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist Behavioral Health Technician 2 and clinical staff in making sure members complete their intake comprehensive assessment, including partial case management for re-engagement of services.
  • Complete administrative chart closures for members not complying with registration requirements.
  • Collect and report on client data as required by Supervisor.
  • Assist members with the completion of complaint form and will submit it to Quality Manager for review and follow-up.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
Knowledge of:
  • Basic interviewing techniques;
  • AHCCCS eligibility and enrollment requirements;
  • HIPAA requirements in behavioral health;
  • Yaqui culture, customs, resources, and traditions and/or willingness to learn.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Develop a database of area referrals for clients;
  • Handle multiple tasks and organize work demands efficiently;
  • Communicate clearly verbally and in writing;
  • Work on a team in the provision of behavioral health services;
  • Maintain confidentiality of information;
  • Use computers and related software applications;
  • Operating a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

High School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years of work experience in the clerical related position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Special Requirements:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's license.
Licensing REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain a Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in removal from this position.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test; fingerprinting requirement determined by funding and sensitivity of position.
