Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a friendly Teller I/II for a growing credit union in the United States. You will promote products, counsel members, process transactions, and support tellers and MSRs.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years in a financial institution with proven sales success. You will handle new accounts, loan inquiries, daily reconciliation, and provide excellent member service.

Job description

• Promote credit union products and services to members by telephone or in person
• Counsel new and existing members regarding credit union services and investment opportunities, including current promotions
• Perform teller tasks and process member transactions, inquiries, mail, and authorized account changes
• Assist members with opening new accounts, including Regular Shares, Share Draft, Money Market, Term Accounts, and IRAs
• Provide support to Tellers and Member Service Representatives as needed
• Provide cross-functional support to Call Center, Consumer Lending, Card Services, and Collections departments
• Assist with member inquiries regarding savings rates, loan rates, MasterCard accounts, and account inquiries
• Process loan requests and interface with loan officers on behalf of members
• Follow up with members regarding loan decisions
• Provide basic and routine real estate information
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of received documents
• Perform clerical functions, data input, and typing of designated forms
• Provide phone support to members calling the Call Center
• Retrieve and distribute voice messages
• Perform end-of-day branch reconciliation and prepare checks for back-office processing
• Maintain and balance teller drawer daily
• Participate on an ATM balancing team
• Support management in attaining organizational goals and objectives
• Participate in ongoing employee self-development training
• Perform as Teller I, Teller II, or MSR I as needed
• May be responsible for a remote office and developing site, sponsor, and vendor relationships

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Two years experience within a financial institution with demonstrated success in a sales environment
• Expert knowledge of Teller functions, MSR functions, new accounts, member service, and loan products
• Ability to professionally assist members with all credit union products and services in accordance with all credit union policies and procedures
• Expert knowledge of credit union products and services
• Ability to manage workflow with limited supervision
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with an emphasis on professionalism and delivering a high quality of member service
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Expert knowledge of the credit union’s core system
• Willingness to undergo thorough background checks, including verification of previous employment, education, credit checks, and pre-employment drug screening
• Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, 40 hours
