Job Title: Member Service Representative

Reports to: Branch Manager

Hours per Week: 38 – Hourly Position

Pay: $18-$20

Position Summary

To provide exceptional member service and deliver products/services by offering solutions to meet members’ financial needs. Sales efforts include face-to-face and outbound calls. The candidate will open, service, and resolve issues across various accounts, products, and services. Must be a team player with integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, and a track record of outstanding service while meeting sales and operational goals.

Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities
  • Actively learn all products and services to effectively cross-sell and meet financial needs.
  • Obtain new membership through outbound calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Ensure quality and standards in new account openings, meeting goals set by the Department Manager.
  • Serve as liaison between members and departments.
  • Provide information about products/services via phone or in person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve inquiries timely, communicating resolutions clearly.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and membership requirements.
  • Perform duties of a loan interviewer: provide info on loans, calculate payments, quote rates, process applications, and close loans.
  • Solicit and deepen member relationships through various contacts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including BSA, Patriot Act, and OFAC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications: Knowledge of Credit Union products/services, ability to cross-sell, and build relationships.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adherence to internal and external policies and regulations (NCUA).
  • Adaptability and embrace member service standards.
  • Quick learner of new tasks and processes.
Skills and Abilities
  • Trust, diplomacy, courtesy, and tact.
  • Personal contact skills, confidentiality, professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Comfort with learning new systems and processes.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Positive, professional communication with members.
  • Ability to analyze problems, gather data, and seek solutions.
Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.
Certifications, Licenses
  • Must be bondable.
  • Annual compliance testing required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.
  • Moderate noise level.
