Job summary

Educational Federal Credit Union in Miami, FL is seeking a dedicated Member Representative to deliver exceptional member service. You will consult with members on deposits and loan inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and identify needs to refer suitable credit union products and services.

You will process transactions, handle account services, and assist with online banking while maintaining awareness of current promos.

Qualifications

• Experience in teller or member service roles.
• Ability to explain credit union products and services.
• Willingness to travel between branches.
• Availability to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Processes various transactions for members including cash and non-cash deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, cash advances, cashier's checks, savings bonds, IRA deposits, CD withdrawals.
• Prepares paperwork for wire transfers, processes stop payments, direct deposit payroll forms, card issues, check orders, and temporary checks; assists with Online Banking setup; handles address changes and prints copies of checks/statements.
• Provides access to safe deposit boxes and completes necessary documentation.
• Discusses features/benefits of credit union products/services and stays informed about current promotions.
• Maximizes member contact to identify beneficial products/services and makes referrals.
• Acts as lobby leader, assesses needs, and directs to information sources to minimize wait times.
• Serves as a school branch liaison at high school branches as needed.
• Participates in volunteer networking/promotional events with local schools/colleges/partners.
• Attends team meetings/daily huddles to contribute to branch strategy.
• Travel within branch network to provide staffing support when necessary.
• Works on Saturdays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Member Representative provides exceptional member service by serving as a consultant to members on a wide variety of deposit and loan transactions/inquiries, resolving member issues accurately and in a timely manner, and effectively identifying members' needs and making appropriate referrals for Credit Union's products and services.

Duties Include

• Processes various types of transactions for members including cash and non-cash deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, cash advances, cashier's checks, savings bonds, IRA deposits, CD withdrawals, etc.
• Services member accounts by preparing the necessary paperwork for wire transfers; processing stop payment requests, direct deposit payroll request forms, new/lost/stolen cards, check orders, and temporary checks; assisting with Online Banking setup; processing address change requests; and printing copies of checks and statements.
• Provides members with access to their safe deposit boxes and completes necessary documentation.
• Has the knowledge and ability to discuss basic features and benefits of all credit unions products and services. Maintains awareness of all current promotions or campaigns.
• Maximizes every member contact as an opportunity to identify what Credit Union products and services would be beneficial to them and makes appropriate referrals.
• Serves as "lobby leader" and is responsible for assessing walk-in member's needs and directing them to the appropriate information source to ensure maximum lobby efficiency and minimize member waiting time.
• Serves as a school branch liaison at the Credit Union high school branches as necessary.
• Periodically participates in volunteer external networking and promotional events with local schools, colleges, and other community business partners.
• Actively participates in team meetings/daily huddles to provide input and ideas regarding branch business strategy.
• Required to have the ability to travel throughout the branch network to provide staffing assistance at all branch locations when necessary.
• Required to work on Saturdays.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
