Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • Sophomore standing or higher (Junior preferred)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job description

Member Relations Communications Intern

Compensation: $23/hour

Position Duration: May 2027 - July 2027

Position Location: Arden Hills, MN

The Member Relations Communications Intern will partner with teams across Land O’Lakes to support communications and engagement initiatives that serve our member-owners. The intern’s primary project will focus on:

  • Researchingindustrybest practicesformember-andcustomer-facing sites
  • Evaluating theuserexperience of theLand O’Lakes member-facing site
  • Identifyinggapsandopportunities to improve content, design, navigation, and other features that enhance member value and engagement
  • Implementingapproved content, design, and navigation updates to improve the member experience

Throughout the summer, theMember Relations CommunicationsIntern will also support a variety of communications projects, gaining hands‑on experience incontent developmentand review,memberemailcommunications,and trainingpromotion, whilebuildingan understanding of the cooperative business model.

Thisrole ispart ofthe Member Governance and Shared Services team,whichworkstoempower the success of our member-owners.

Required
  • Pursuingabachelor’sdegree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a relatedfield
  • Sophomorestandingor higher (Junior preferred)
  • Strong writingand editing skills
  • Highly organizedwith the abilityto managemultipleprojects simultaneously
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Officeapplications(Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong verbal andwrittencommunication skills
Preferred
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Previousinternship or corporate work experience
  • KnowledgeofAP Style
  • Experience with digitalmarketingtoolssuch asSalesforceMarketing Cloud, Canvaor AdobeCreative Suite
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and webcontent writing
