Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking an experienced Backend/Platform Engineer to own core infrastructure, backend systems, and developer tooling. You will build scalable cloud-native solutions, design data pipelines, and create secure execution environments for advanced AI agents in a regulated fintech context.

You will lead system reliability improvements, cost optimization, and deployment automation, collaborating with platform engineers and cross-functional teams as the business scales through

Competenze

• 5+ years of backend/platform/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience designing backend systems and building cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and deployment automation.
• Experience owning internal platform systems or developer tooling in a high-growth startup environment.
• Strong skills with Python, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, REST APIs, and data pipelines.
• Experience with AI or LLM agent infrastructure; secure code execution, sandboxing, or isolation is relevant.
• Experience scaling systems through rapid growth or acquisitions, ideally in fintech, finance, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
• Individual contributor experience with clear career progression.

About the Role

Join the platform team at a fintech company building AI agent systems for wealth management. You will own infrastructure, backend systems, and developer experience that support reliable, secure agent operations in a regulated environment.

What You'll Do

• Design and build backend systems, APIs, data stores, and data pipelines.
• Build cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and deployment automation.
• Create safe, isolated execution environments for AI agents.
• Develop internal platform systems and tooling that help engineers ship effectively.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and infrastructure costs as the business grows.
• Support platform scaling across company growth and acquisitions.

What We're Looking For

• 5 or more years of directly relevant backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience designing backend systems and building cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and deployment automation.
• Experience owning internal platform systems or developer tooling in a high-growth startup environment.
• Strong skills with Python, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, REST APIs, and data pipelines.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $200,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
