Job summary

Aren is hiring a Member of Technical Staff to build production software for nursing workflows across mobile and web platforms. You will design scalable AI-powered experiences and integrate with EHRs, delivering reliable clinical tools used by nurses and hospital staff.

You will partner with hospital executives and frontline clinicians to iterate on real-world feedback, improve latency and safety, and own the architecture and user experience end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building production software.
• Experience shipping web or mobile apps and AI infrastructure.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites.

Responsibilities

Job description

We're hiring a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) to build the products that nurses rely on throughout every shift. You'll design and build production software that operates in safety-critical settings, creating seamless user experiences across mobile, web, and clinical integrations. Every feature you ship will directly impact how nurses communicate, document care, and coordinate with their teams. You'll also work directly with hospital executives, nurse leaders, and frontline clinicians to understand their workflows, validate new capabilities, and rapidly turn real-world feedback into product improvements.

What You'll Do

• Build the AI infrastructure, products, and user experiences powering Aren’s nursing workflows.
• Design and ship intuitive, high-quality mobile and web applications used by clinicians every day.
• Design evaluation systems that measure and improve accuracy, reliability, and clinical usefulness.
• Own product architecture, performance, reliability, and user experience across the platform.
• Own integrations with EHRs and other clinical data sources, ensuring seamless experiences across healthcare environments.
• Improve latency, observability, and safety across the AI platform.
• Partner directly with hospital executives, unit managers, and bedside nurses to understand clinical workflows, demo new capabilities, and rapidly iterate on the product.

What We're Looking For

• Exceptional software engineering skills and experience building production systems.
• Strong product intuition and an eye for thoughtful, polished user experiences.
• Experience shipping LLM, agentic, machine learning, web, or mobile products used by real customers.
• Strong intuition for designing reliable AI systems, not just prompting models.
• Ability to take complex customer problems from research and experimentation into production.
• Comfort working across frontend, backend, mobile, AI, and product engineering.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical teams and healthcare customers.

What We Require

• 3+ years of experience building production software.
• Experience building modern web or mobile applications, LLM applications, agentic systems, evaluation frameworks, or related AI infrastructure.
• Experience with modern application frameworks and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Ability to travel periodically to customer sites and company offsites.
