Job summary

Pace, an AI-native business process outsourcer for insurers, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own the platform our AI agents run on. The role covers multi-tenant cloud deployments, single-tenant clouds, and installs inside our enterprise customers' clouds, with data residency and auditability in mind.

You will scale secure browser infrastructure, execute a zero-downtime production cutover, build observability, and expand to new regions or BYOC deployments for clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years running production infrastructure.
• Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code experience.
• You've led a significant migration or cutover and can talk concretely about how you made it safe.
• Comfortable owning networking and security boundaries end to end.
• Strong observability instincts - you've built the dashboards, monitors, and runbooks your team relies on.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform our AI agents run on, from our own cloud (Kubernetes on AWS) to installs inside our customers' clouds.
• Scaling the secure, sandboxed browser infrastructure our agents do their work in.
• Planning and executing a zero-downtime cutover of production infrastructure.
• Building the observability and alerting that keep long-lived agent workloads reliable.
• Bringing up a new region and working out what data residency means for it.
• Standing up Pace inside an enterprise customer's cloud (BYOC) and making that install repeatable for the next customer.

Pace is an AI-native business process outsourcer for insurers. We combine the speed of AI agents with expert review by our insurance operations team to automate insurance tasks. Almost $400bn per year is spent on outsourcing in financial services every year. We're here to change that working side-by-side with some of the largest companies in the world.

ROLE

We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to own the platform our AI agents run on. Pace deploys in many different ways: multi-tenant cloud deployments, single-tenant cloud deployments, and installs inside our enterprise customers' own clouds. The same system that serves a fast-moving startup also has to pass the scrutiny of some of the largest insurers in the world, concerns which include data residency, isolation, and auditability.

YOU WILL

Own the platform our AI agents run on, from our own cloud (Kubernetes on AWS) to installs inside our customers' clouds. Examples include:

• Scaling the secure, sandboxed browser infrastructure our agents do their work in

• Planning and executing a zero-downtime cutover of production infrastructure

• Building the observability and alerting that keep long-lived agent workloads reliable

• Bringing up a new region and working out what data residency means for it

• Standing up Pace inside an enterprise customer's cloud (BYOC) and making that install repeatable for the next customer

YOUR BACKGROUND

• 4+ years running production infrastructure

• Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code experience

• You've led a significant migration or cutover and can talk concretely about how you made it safe

• Comfortable owning networking and security boundaries end to end

• Strong observability instincts - you've built the dashboards, monitors, and runbooks your team relies on

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience shipping software into customer-controlled environments (BYOC, on-prem, or single-tenant enterprise)

• Experience with workload isolation and sandboxing, or browser automation

• Experience with durable-execution or workflow engines

• Experience operating under compliance regimes (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA)

• Experience in the insurance space
