Job summary

Georgia’s Own Credit Union is seeking a Universal Banker I to blend teller responsibilities with sales and member advisory services. You will guide members through deposits, loans, and account openings while delivering superior service.

You’ll utilize branch technology to process transactions, answer inquiries, and support the lending process, aiming to enhance member financial well‑being and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in financial branch or retail is expected.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in financial services or retail sales.
• Coverage at other branches and Saturday rotation.
• Ability to communicate with members in writing and speaking.
• Experience with loan applications and internal policies.
• Knowledge of current offers, lending policies, and market trends.
• Ability to interpret credit scores, debts, assets, and payments; basic math skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Greet members warmly and make them feel valued or connected to the credit union.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
• Balance records in accordance with teller balancing standards.
• Follow Credit Union policies and comply with laws.
• Perform misc. tasks: ATM balancing, branch recaps, account maintenance, night deposits, vault Teller duties.
• Demonstrate knowledge of branch tech: ATMs, cash recyclers, debit cards, scanning, ITMs, Glory Teller.
• Support audits and adhere to risk management procedures.
• Open and close consumer and business membership accounts.
• Assist members with account maintenance and loan documentation.

Education

High school diploma

Bachelor’s degree preferred

One to three years’ experience in a financial branch environment

Coverage at other branches; Saturday rotation

Ability to communicate with members; written and verbal

Experience with loan application process and policies

Knowledge of industry offers, market trends, lending and member policies

Interpreting financial information and basic math

Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
