Qualifications

• Conflict resolution skills, and ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
• Experience with basic Windows based applications.
• Possess basic math, grammar, and spelling skills to complete transactions.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
• Fingerprinting required for YMCA staff per policy.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire from approved organizations.

Responsibilities

• Build positive member relationships and cultivate member stories to increase participation.
• Educate members that the YMCA is a non-profit charitable organization.
• Promote membership and programs and serve as an advocate for the YMCA.
• Monitor facility check-ins and ensure proper guest flow.
• Answer incoming calls courteously and route to appropriate staff.
• Engage in active listening to understand goals and assist with achievements.
• Maintain knowledge of branch programs and share information with members.
• Greet, interview, and tour prospective members using engagement techniques.
• Process membership sales, upgrades/downgrades, renewals, and transfers accurately.
• Handle end-of-shift procedures and balance transactions.
