• Proficiency working with Microsoft suite products.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Communities of Practice.
• Foster increased engagement in Communities of Practice, facilitate content creation and dissemination, and coordinate with internal teams to enhance the member experience.
• Assess and improve community activities.
• Grow community engagement and conduct regular evaluations using member feedback and engagement metrics.
• Maintain relationships with community leaders to foster active participation and ownership.
• Plan and execute community events.
• Support virtual events, webinars, and meetings to encourage member engagement and professional networking.
• Provide community feedback to stakeholders.
• Observe and present community trends and recommendations for improvements with the member engagement team to drive business success and content creation within the myConnection platform.
• Facilitate member engagement initiatives.
• Enhance the Trainee to Early Career member experience and retention.
• Analyze member engagement.
• Monitor member engagement trends and assist in analyzing trends for insights to increase engagement in ASCO programs.
• Nurture new member onboarding.
• Ensure new members are welcomed and engaged in programs and topics of interest to provide immediate value.
• Coordinate member recognition initiatives.
• Assist with FASCO point inquiries, participation tracking, transcript support, and follow up related to recognition and engagement programs.
• Support member retention programs.
• Coordinate renewal communications, campaign follow up, and member outreach activities as needed.

ASCO has a new and exciting opportunity for a Member Engagement Coordinator to join our team! In this role, the Member Engagement Coordinator will support our Communities of Practice, coordinate online engagement activities and events, and contribute to member onboarding, recognition, and retention initiatives—all while helping create a meaningful experience for ASCO members.

This position is hybrid with a primary location at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA. The hire must reside within 75 miles of our headquarters and be available to work onsite as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Communities of Practice.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 1 - 3 years of prior professional experience, or a combination of internship and professional experience.
• Understanding of virtual communities.
• Proficiency with professional online community platforms (e.g., Higher Logic).
• Proficiency working with Microsoft suite products.

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2 years of professional experience in customer/member support, community coordination, event planning, or marketing communications.
• Prior experience in a non-profit, professional association, or membership-driven organization.
• Familiarity with online community management platforms (e.g., Higher Logic / myConnection) or social media engagement strategies.
• Experience supporting member engagement, retention, volunteer or recognition programs preferred.
• Solid project management abilities; adept at prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exposure to CRM or Association Management Systems (AMS) (e.g., Salesforce, Personify, Fonteva).
• Experience assisting with member onboarding, retention campaigns, or volunteer recognition programs.

Must lift up to 25 lbs Extended periods seated or standing at a desk. High use of computer and other office technology equipment. Travel 11-20 days/yr

Compensation

This is a non‑exempt position based upon 37.5 hours per week. The hourly rate range for this position is $29.79-$39.18. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum annualized salary ASCO expects to provide for a new hire for the position across the U.S. We thoughtfully determine and design offers based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
