Job summary

ASCO in Alexandria, VA is seeking an International Membership Coordinator to manage virtual meetings across time zones, support governance activities, prepare membership reports, and collaborate across departments to grow ASCO’s global membership.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 2 years in administrative operations, program support, data coordination, or member relations; proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Office is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, international affairs, marketing and communications, or similar.
  • 2 years of professional experience in administrative operations, program support, data coordination, or customer/member relations.
  • Demonstrated global awareness and cultural sensitivity, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom), including scheduling across international time zones and basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft suite products.

Responsibilities

  • Global Meeting Operations & Technical Coordination: Manage complex scheduling and virtual meeting operations across multiple time zones, applying strong technical troubleshooting skills (e.g., Zoom proficiency) and cultural awareness to ensure seamless, professional experiences for international stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting: Utilize strong data management and analytical abilities to extract and organize data from internal systems, delivering demographic and membership reports that drive global recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Cross-Departmental Financial Accountability: Partner with Finance to support payment processing, reconcile invoices, and maintain compliant financial records for the Regional Council team.
  • Governance Administration & Volunteer Collaboration: Compile meeting minutes and coordinate committee elections, while working with volunteer management to maintain rosters.
  • Logistical Flexibility & Inter-Departmental Support: Provide backup logistical support for the Member Services Department and travel to support recruitment and retention efforts.

Who we are looking for:

ASCO has a new and exciting opportunity for an International Membership Coordinator to join our membership team!

The International Membership Coordinator will manage virtual meetings across multiple time zones, support volunteer and governance activities, prepare membership and demographic reports, assist with financial processes, and collaborate across departments—all while helping advance ASCO’s global membership and oncology initiatives.

We are looking for a tech-savvy professional with experience in administrative operations, program support, data coordination, or member relations. If you are a self-starter who thrives in driving operational excellence, we would love to hear from you!

This position is hybrid with a primary location at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA. The hire must reside within 75 miles of our headquarters and be available to work onsite as business needs require. We anticipate the hire to be onsite approximately 2 days per week (Tuesday plus one additional day).

Responsibilities
  • Global Meeting Operations & Technical Coordination :Manage complex scheduling and virtual meeting operations across multiple time zones, applying strong technical troubleshooting skills (e.g., Zoomproficiency) and cultural awareness to ensure seamless, professional experiences for international stakeholders.

  • Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting:

    Utilizestrong data management and analytical abilities to extract and organizedatafrom internal systems, collaborating directly with the Program Administrator and Director to deliver critical demographic and membership reports that drive global recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Cross-Departmental Financial Accountability

    : Partner closely with the Finance departmentto supportpayment processing, reconcile invoices, andmaintainaccurate, compliant financial records for the Regional Council team.
  • Governance Administration & Volunteer Collaboration

    : Execute critical administrative duties—such as compilingaccuratemeeting minutes and coordinating committee chair elections—while working collectively with the volunteer management team tomaintainand share up-to-date volunteer rosters.
  • Logistical Flexibility & Inter-Departmental Support

    : Demonstrateadaptability and a team-first mindset by providing reliable backup logistical support for the Member Services Department, managing thepackingand receiving of shipments to and from ASCO Headquarters to ensure continuous departmental efficiency.Travel to support member recruitment and retention efforts at domestic oncology meetings.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, international affairs,marketingand communications, orsimilar.

  • 2yearsof professional experience in administrative operations, program support, data coordination, or customer/member relations.

  • Demonstrated global awareness and cultural sensitivity, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Hands-on experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g.,Zoom), including scheduling across international time zones and basic technical troubleshooting.

  • Proficiencyworking with Microsoft suite products.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Prior experience working in anon-profit, professional association, or membership-driven organization(especially within an international scope).

  • Familiarity withvolunteer management, committee governance, or supporting advisory councils.

Compensation

This is a non-exempt position based upon 37.5 hours per week. The hourly rate range for this position is $29.79-$39.18.

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum annualized salary ASCO expects to provide for a new hire for the position across the U.S. We thoughtfully determine and design offers based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
