Job summary

BECU is seeking a Member Consultant II in Washington state to deliver a seamless, high‑quality member experience across nearby pod branches in Auburn, Covington and Maple Valley. You’ll apply product knowledge to assist with business services, consumer lending, deposits, IRA, POA and Fiduciary accounts, and you’ll sign documents to fulfill members’ needs.

Training lasts 12 weeks with shifts 8:00 AM–6:30 PM, plus travel between branches and Tukwila for training and rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment.
• Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently.
• Proficiency with learning new systems and programs; ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
• Ability to complete a 12-week in-house training program after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional member service and sales across business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.
• Sign all line and loan documents originated through the call center, fulfilling member needs.
• Assist the community with financial wellness through education and access to financial planning resources.

PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $26.00 - $32.12 hourly.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE

As a Member Consultant II, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience. Your expertise in BECU's products will allow you to identify, diagnose, and address members' consumer financial needs and refer them to specialized services when necessary. You will serve as a subject matter expert, resolving our members' needs and providing expertise in specialized financial services.

Compensation Transparency

We believe in fair and equitable pay for all employees. The listed pay ranges reflect our commitment to both internal equity and market competitiveness:

• Member Consultant: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Offers are often made within this range, taking into account experience, skills, and alignment with internal team compensation. Please note that starting pay typically does not exceed the range midpoint.

About This Role & Pod Expectations

This role is part of a pod (a group of nearby branches) within BECU's Mountain District. Additional details provided if moved forward in the hiring process.

• Pod Branches: Auburn, Covington, Maple Valley
  • Location support based on business needs
• Rotation Required: You'll work across all POD branches for up to your first year or more - this is a core expectation of the role
• One-Year Commitment: All Retail new hires are expected to remain in this role, POD, and schedule for a minimum of one year before pursuing other opportunities within BECU
• Training: Training will include travel to the Tukwila Financial Center
• Travel Required: The ability to commute between branches & training location is required
• Flexibility Required: Schedules are typically given 30 days in advance but you may be asked to adapt to varying schedules and branch assignments based on business needs

Training Schedule

• 12 weeks, Monday-Friday
• Variable shifts between 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Post-Training Schedule

• Variable shifts between Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Up to 3 Saturdays per month: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Exceptional Member Experience and Sales Consultation

• Utilize product knowledge to provide excellent customer service and sales, including areas of business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.

• Sign all line and loan documents that originate through outbound/inbound call center, ensuring each Member's needs are fulfilled.

• Assisting the community with financial wellness: This could involve financial education programs, assistance with budgeting, debt management, or access to financial planning resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience
• Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment

Desired Qualifications

• One year of experience in a financial institution
• Spanish language fluency highly desirable
• Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently
• Strong proficiency and comfort level with learning new systems and programs; with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
• Ability to successfully complete 12-week in-house training program after hire
• Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product and service solutions
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with Members
• Problem resolution, negotiating, organization, multi-tasking and peer coaching skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts
