Reporting to the Director of Sales & Member Experience, the Member Account Executive plays a critical, field-based role in driving business growth by serving as a trusted advisor and key account manager to a portfolio of I.D.A., Guardian, Remedy’sRx, and Enterprise Independent Pharmacy Members.
This role is responsible for building and nurturing strong, collaborative relationships with assigned Members to support mutual success. Through a structured call cycle of in-person and virtual interactions, the Member Account Executive delivers operational support, identifies growth opportunities, and provides strategic guidance to enhance pharmacy revenue and profitability. This includes promoting selling strategies, pharmacy programs, and best practices, as well as leveraging data and analytics to deliver actionable insights.
As the primary point of contact, the Member Account Executive ensures a seamless and high-quality customer experience across all touchpoints with McKesson. The role requires close cross-functional collaboration with internal teams including Business Development, Professional Services, Category Management, Marketing, Finance, Pharma Distribution, Customer Service, and Pharmacy Technology Solutions.

Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a structured field call cycle to maintain consistent, high-impact engagement with assigned I.D.A., Guardian, Remedy’sRx, and Enterprise pharmacy locations.
- Act as a strategic business partner to pharmacy owners and operators, driving Member satisfaction, loyalty, and growth through exceptional service and value delivery.
- Proactively identify business risks and service issues, implementing timely and effective mitigation strategies to protect Member relationships and performance.
- Analyze pharmacy performance data, prepare business reviews, and deliver insights that support data-driven decision-making and revenue growth.
- Monitor and influence Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence and alignment with McKesson and Member goals.
- Provide comprehensive operational support across marketing, advertising, pharmacy operations, formulary compliance, product distribution, POS systems, and pharmacy technology adoption.
- Advise Members on strategies to increase sales and profitability, including execution of Own Brand initiatives and adherence to key programs.
- Track and optimize pharmacy purchasing behavior, ensuring alignment with program expectations and maximizing rebate and incentive opportunities.
- Lead Banner Agreement renewal discussions, supporting negotiation and execution to secure long-term partnerships.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Members and internal McKesson teams—including Pharmacy Services, Business Development, Pharmacy Technology Solutions and others—to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
- Generate and share qualified leads with internal stakeholders to support business development, technology adoption, and pharmacy expansion.
- Support merchandising plans and store readiness for new pharmacy openings, renovations, and relocations, including coordination of opening orders and promotional execution.
Key Requirements
- University degree preferred; equivalent experience in retail pharmacy management will be considered
- Proven ability to build lasting relationships with customers, colleagues, and partners
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where prioritization skills are essential
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of retail pharmacy operations is an asset
- Up to 60% travel needed - limited overnight travel
