Job summary

NLMK in the United States seeks a Melting Supervisor to oversee production and maintenance for the EAF and LMF on the scheduled turn. You will manage safety, training, and communication between management and staff to ensure quality and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years of melt shop management experience, EAF/Caster familiarity, and a 4-year metallurgy degree is a plus. Union workforce experience is beneficial, with a focus on continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in an Electric Arc Furnace Shop and Caster.
• Three to five years management experience in a Melt Shop with an EAF and Caster; a 4 year college degree in Metallurgy or related fields is a plus.
• Strong abilities in managing an hourly Union workforce a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all activities of production and maintenance for the EAF and LMF for the scheduled turn.
• Train crew to comply with Health, Safety, and environmental policies and follow JSA and SOPs.
• Coordinate all turn activities to optimize productivity, quality and cost in a safe manner.
• Complete all turn reports and communicate key issues with other supervisors.
• Ensure communication between Management and employees; relay important information from managers to staff.
• Pursue continuous improvement of the steelmaking process.
• Adhere to all company policies and Basic Labor Agreement requirements.
