Job summary

M&H Valve Company in McWane, Inc. is hiring a furnace charge operator in our Alabama facility. You will load metal and fuel, monitor furnace conditions, and operate the yard crane to weigh charges. Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and keep the production area clean and safe.

Responsibilities include following work orders, testing iron chemistry and temperature, recording readings, and assisting with relining and overhaul tasks. Must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Charge metal and fuel into the furnace and monitor furnace conditions.
• Operate yard crane to weigh charge metals and manage materials.
• Conduct quality testing and record readings for iron chemistry and temperature.
• Reline, overhaul, patch, and rebuild ladles, covers, and spouts as needed.
• Assist in prepping for the next production run and maintain a clean production area.
