Job summary

Neenah Foundry Company is seeking an entry-level production team member for our molding operations. The role requires the ability to work in a loud, warm, and physically demanding environment and to handle molten metal safely.

The successful applicant will be able to work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, and participate in cross training across various production tasks. The position offers base pay with shift premiums and opportunities for advancement within a team-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate furnaces and monitor furnace conditions.
• Take readings accurately and maintain production records.
• Maintain cleanliness of the production area and equipment.
• Move and process materials, load/unload rail cars, and handle scrap.
• Operate yard crane, bobcat, and forklift as needed.
• Support cross-training across production tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Description

The Melt role is a team-based position and plays a crucial role in the success of each molding line. This role is an entry-level opportunity and does not require any previous experience. However, you must be able to tolerate a loud, warm, and physically challenging work environment. The successful applicant must be able to work in confined spaces, stand for extended periods of time, as well as handle molten metal in a safe and confident manner . The position does offer the opportunity for cross training and experience in a variety of tasks related to production.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills are highly desirable
• Demonstrate ability to monitor furnace conditio ns
• Accurately take readings
• Make refractory repairs to cupola, ladles and furnaces.
• Rod and dump the furnace
• Maintain cleanliness of production area
• Operate yard crane to accurately weigh charge metals into the weigh hopper
• Load and unload rail cars
• Break up returns
• Maintain the yard in orderly fashion
• Plot and adjust chemistry over iron
• Demonstrate the ability to charge the cupola
• Operate bobcat and forklift
• Move and process materials
• Receive and process scrap

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply
• Must be able to read and follow work instructions
• Cannot be afraid of heights

Shifts:

• Must be available to work 8-12 hour shifts
• Must be available for overtime as production needs require
• Shifts vary according to Plant assignment
• Monday – Friday, some Saturdays and Sundays required.

Typical shift hours:

• 2 shift: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Pay rate:

Base pay rate of $27.51, 2nd shift premium: $1.50, 3rd shift premium: $1.00

Base rates increase $1/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
