Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a MedTech Surgery Analytical Characterization Intern in Raritan, NJ. The role focuses on hands-on wet chemistry and chromatography to support new product development and lifecycle management, within the Analytical Characterization group of R&D.

The internship runs May–August 2026, full-time (40 hours/week). Candidates should be undergrad freshmen pursuing chemistry/chemical engineering with GPA ≥3.0; U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Work with scientists to perform wet chemistry and chromatography in support of new product development and life-cycle management.
• Daily activities include sample preparation, testing, data collection, notebook recording, data analysis, and data reporting.
• Login and manage samples submitted from the stability group.
• Follow safe and environmentally sound lab techniques per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate clearly through verbal and written reports; maintain lab notebooks per procedures and FDA/ICH guidelines.
