MedTech Field Service Technician - On-Call / Per Diem - Eugene/Portland, OR
IQVIA is looking for a MedTech Field Service Technician to work on an on-call, per-diem basis. You will troubleshoot, repair, and update medical devices in hospitals, pharmacies, and other clinical settings, focusing on an automated medication dispensing system.
What you will do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and document device activity.
- Replace hardware parts, apply software updates and calibrations.
- Perform bi-annual or yearly preventative maintenance as required by customers.
- Assist with installation and implementation of new devices at customer locations.
- Conduct routine system checks and record data from product tests after installation and configuration.
- Maintain and stock parts and tools assigned by the customer.
- Be available on‑call, including nights and weekends.
Job Requirements
- Intermediate troubleshooting in electronics, mechanics, and electromechanical systems.
- Experience as a military, computer, or other complex electronics technician preferred; experience supporting automation equipment in a healthcare setting a plus.
- Background in healthcare, field service, engineering, biomedical, maintenance, customer service, pharmacy tech, electronics, electrical, or IT beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and exceptional customer support ability.
- Must be able to push, pull, stoop, bend, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must clear hospital vendor credentialing, including proof of vaccination status.
Travel Requirement
- Travel locally up to 2–3 hours to support customer needs.
- Respond and arrive at customer sites within the service ticket’s SLA (within 4, 8, 12, or 24 hours).
- Must have an active driver’s license and a personal vehicle for job‑related assignments.
- Travel time and mileage are paid.
Preferred Attributes
- A+ certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
