Job summary

Veranex, the world’s first Innovation CRO, invites motivated students to join our Minneapolis-based Electrical Engineering Intern program. You will contribute to projects across the medical device development lifecycle, gain hands-on experience, and work with cross-functional teams alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced consulting environment.

You will participate in internal and client-facing meetings, receive mentorship, and build technical, analytical, and professional skills

Qualifications

• Onsite internship in Minneapolis, immersing in a hands-on engineering environment.
• Enrolled in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related Bachelor’s degree program.
• Has completed 2–4 years of college coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.
• Basic knowledge of circuit design, common digital interfaces, analog circuit design, simulation, and debugging.
• Any additional experience with electro-mechanical products is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Kicad or Altium.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task under timelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day communication with program managers and team members.
• Manage time and activities to meet project milestones.
• Assist in design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices and equipment.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and design assurance engineers on technologies and designs.
• Develop and execute prototype testing plans and protocols.
• Execute PCB and system-level tests with proper documentation.
• Do schematic and layout for small PCBAs in Altium or Kicad.
• Assist in compliance with medical device regulations and standards.
• Analyze PCBA or electrical components to requirements and selection.
• Rework of PCBAs and cables.
